Embracing Change

I've always enjoyed exploring 'tech' and new ideas.

Following an inspiring experience years ago, I began my coaching career a long time before coaching became established in corporate life. Since before I started coaching I've used a tablet PC with handwriting recognition and mind maps for note-taking. And, of course, I was in the queue for the first iPhones, upgrading from a Nokia

Right now, with potentially even greater impact than 'The Internet' etc. we are seeing the explosion of AI.

This video is about a coaching assignment, it tells the story of my first coaching session with the a client.

But whilst the coaching story is fascinating, it's the tech behind this post that I want to mention.

I made my handwritten notes on my tablet PC, as usual during the coaching session, creating a mind map which is transcribed into text. I expanded those outline notes into a quick 'case study' to record the story so far.

These next steps were inspired by a timely update from a video app that I subscribe to and am exploring.

As was suggested, I loaded my 'case study' into a specified AI tool asking it to produce a script for a video. Within three to four iterations 'we' had refined the script.

The AI-refined script was then pasted into the video app itself. The video app produced this video, scene by scene, with the graphics in a style I had selected, and aligned it with the script. The app also generated the captions.

My 'voice-over' was generated entirely by the app, I had previously 'trained' it by reading aloud a selected text and gave permission for my AI-generated voice to be used in the video.

Creating a video a year ago was both time consuming and a learning challenge, and perhaps in part, it is my continuous learning and awareness of change across all these tools that enabled this timely experiment.

While there are certainly opportunities for improvement to explore in future projects, this video is 'good enough' having taken me little more than an hour to produce!

This is just a hint of the capability and productivity increases that AI is enabling.
